The Boulder Chevra Kadisha is a volunteer-based organization serving Jewish communities throughout Boulder County. Our trained local volunteers provide traditional Jewish burial preparation and dedicate themselves to honoring the deceased through respectful and dignified practices.

The Boulder Chevra Kadisha focuses on two essential elements:

• Taharah (washing and ritual purification of the body as well as dressing it in traditional burial garments)

• Shmirah (guarding the deceased from the time of death until burial).

All community members are welcome to participate in any of the holy rituals that fit their desire and temperament.
